Marimba Mallets Modern Touch Rubber 01
The Modern Touch Rubber 01 marimba mallets produce a warm, round sound particularly suited to contemporary music. Their xylophone-type head brings a soft, muffled definition while retaining a precise articulation.
Their soft, round and controlled attack encourages nuanced, expressive playing. The projection remains light, with the fundamental brought out more to obtain a deep, natural sound. This model is widely used on the marimba for the works of Steve Reich, when a typical attack, great evenness and a warm tone colour are required. The rubber head produces an ideal sound.
Available with wooden or rattan handles. For two-mallet marimba playing we particularly recommend rattan: its flexibility gives a more natural rebound and allows the instrument to develop its sound fully.
As mallets with wooden handles are made to order, this configuration can be neither returned nor exchanged.
Often used for performances of Steve Reich’s Nagoya Marimbas.
