Arioso | BACH J-S.
Ref.: A169001P
Transcription for flute + vibraphone of Arioso, by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged by Michel-Henry GAUTHIER-LURTY. Written for a quite different ensemble, the work is now part of the keyboard percussion repertoire.
The Arioso is one of Bach's most songlike pages, and the vibraphone takes to its line naturally. The arrangement pairs it with flute, though the melody line can go to another instrument depending on what the class has available.
