Praeludium II, by Johann Sebastian Bach, in a transcription for 2 marimbas 4 oct1/3, 4 oct1/2, arranged by Jean-Louis MATON. Composed for other instruments, the work has since entered the keyboard percussion repertoire.
Transcribed in G minor for two players, the prelude is shared between a 4.3-octave and a 4.5-octave marimba. The contrapuntal writing of the original is preserved, which makes it excellent listening practice for a duo.
