L'apprenti Rythmik, by Erick Pigeard: studies for multi-percussion.
These twelve pieces are aimed mainly at percussion classes, but may also suit musicianship classes, since the parts contain no percussion-specific technical demands. The approach is progressive, with a new rhythmic figure introduced in each piece. The guiding idea is to link each new rhythm to a melody that is easy to remember. With accompaniment available to download from the publisher's website. The pieces are fairly short, from fifty seconds to three and a half minutes, and cover a range of styles. The recorded accompaniments use virtual instruments, carefully mixed for the most realistic result.
