Symphonic repertoire for timpani, Brahms and Tchaikovsky Symphonies | CARLYSS G.
Symphonic repertoire for timpani, Brahms and Tchaikovsky Symphonies is a collection of orchestral excerpts for timpani, by Gerald CARLYSS. A title from the orchestral repertoire.
A former timpanist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and professor of music at Indiana University, Gerald Carlyss examines the timpani parts of the Brahms and Tchaikovsky symphonies. His explanations draw on countless performances under many of the world's finest conductors. Ten symphonies are covered: the four by Brahms and the six by Tchaikovsky. Each is given a performance analysis, followed by the complete parts. Two central bodies of the Romantic repertoire, brought together in a single volume.
Each analysis is followed by the parts, ready to practise and to perform.
A preparation tool for orchestral auditions and competitions.
